Delaware County has a free resource called the "Warm Line" that helps residents who feel in need of professional assistance for mental health, substance abuse, trauma, violence, or other issues that affect wellbeing. This resource was publicized at the beginning of the pandemic as a local resource, and representatives from Elwyn's Warm Line Team spoke with volunteers about their services at some of the early VPODs.
The governing body of the Medical Reserve Corp is urging that all chapters include a mental health resource to their volunteers on a regular basis. This service is available at any time, regardless of the mission(s) in which we are involved. Because of this mandate, you will see the hotline number listed in each mission starting in January for your reference in case you need it.
When you call the hotline, they will conduct an intake assessment to be able to quickly point you in the right direction with the appropriate next step in obtaining help for you. CCDC cherishes volunteers and wants you to be in good physical and mental health so that you can continue to find joy in supporting local volunteer opportunities.
Stay Safe and Healthy,
CCDC Volunteer Board
